During the last 20 years many people, immigrants and refugees from Iran, Irak, Turkey, Marocco, Pakistan, Poland have some to our district. Most of them are working but do they feel integrated in our community?
Walking in the park we can see that people coming from other countries seems to sit by themselves and very seldom are in contact with the natives. We wonder why it is like this and would like to know what the immigrants thing of this themselves.
In this number of the Street Magazin you will find an interview with Mr. Bourkanyana. He is representative for the immigrants who has been living in our country for many years.

My idea is that students from this intro and the interview could make a project related to integration. May be they can interview some immigrants themselves or make contact with organisations for immigrants, just to get some more information about their thoughts about the situation.
ReplyDeleteThey could perhaps also cooperate with the group working with elderly people in the park and make some interview with elderly people about their view on immigrants?
Without doing too much on this - it would give students the possibility to get in contact with real people and to get some more data they could use to work on the community the Park City. What do you think???
